Review: Â Overall, I think it’s good for people who want to dip their toes into dj-ing. The controller does lack features in comparison to bigger decks, but it has all the basic stuff you need to learn as a beginner. I also feel like it’s even beneficial to us newbies; it helps you focus on the things you really need which are the basics.I am also pretty impressed by how easy connecting the controller was. I am using a Mac Pro and knowing how painful connecting devices on Mac can be, I was ready to spend hours trying to figure out how to get this thing to work. I had to use a usb adapter of course, but the controller instantly connected to the software.The overall build of the controller is okay. Its a bit lightweight but it doesn’t feel super cheap. The buttons are also plastic and have a cheap sounding click when you press them (you can hear it in the video) and that’s probably the only thing that annoys me in this deck.The software, well…in my opinion it sucks. I had to purchase Serato dj pro because I wanted to see the key of the tracks. My software freezes sometimes too, but I am not sure if that’s an issue with my computer or the software itself. But the freezing happens rarely and it doesn’t really get in the way.

Title: Substandard package. Shady driver installation protocol. Picks up interference
Review: OK. This is an updated review. I finally did get it to work, but only after getting the most recent Windows 10 Build Update, which I honestly did not need and could live without (It has some bugs related to AMD GPU drivers which Microsoft never worked out).The cons: 1. Extremely shady driver delivery method. Apparently you cannot download a driver for this product from the manufacturer’s site. Only from Third party sites (which generally should not be trusted). Or else – you will only get the driver with Serato installation (seriously? Serato developed the driver for your product? You couldn’t even come up with a standalone driver of your own? Or make do with Microsoft’s Legacy USB drivers? What is the deal with that?).2. After I got it set up (finally after trial and error on so many machines) it is now working. And what do I get? Bare basics, or basically the same free Serato version available without purchasing anything (in terms of capabilities I mean – you work with two tracks only, limited FX, and sorely lagging BPM readouts even from a USB3 drive).3. This is one problem that stuck. When both tracks are paused – the unit starts picking up background digital noise via its USB cord. After trying two different USB cords (one brand new too) the problem persisted. It’s pretty awful – I have to immediately turn the gain off on Left and Right tracks when I expect to transition to another DJ’s feed or the clicks and screeches will be extremely loud. Problem goes away when I connect through laptop’s “line out” but this is very far from ideal and for some reason I can’t get the headphones to work properly when I connect it that way. Could be a faulty unit, but hey, the fact that even the very latest Serato (Beta?) version that it needs took multiple tries to install and the product to get recognised tells me this is way beyond just one bad unit.The pros? I’m not sure. Lights are gimmicky. They’re OK for someone’s tiny bedroom may be? It works otherwise as a controller, I had a professional disc jockeytry it out. Said works OK as far as scratching goes, with some latency but that’s normal. Except for the nasty digital noise issue. At this point I wish I spent $50-100 more and got something better. Someone I know said he could use an inline filter and clean up the noise. Wants it for $100 and the way things are going I will probably just end up passing it on to the guy and use the $100 to get something better next time. Didn’t even want to bother returning. Already spent too much of my time on it. So yeah. Take it as you will. Gave it 2 stars – it does what it says but barely and with some serious caveats along the way. Perhaps you will have better luck with yours, but I think you’d be much better off with an entry level Pioneer, personally. Hope my next purchase won’t cost me this much of my time to get it to work as it’s supposed to.

Review: I got this to see if my 10yo wanted to get into âDJ-ingâ and he is loving it. We use Serato disc jockeyLite and a MacBook. Within a week we were able to load and mix playlists, sync timing, use the effects, crossfade with ease, preview with headphones, scratch using the small turntables, etc. The integration with Serato was flawless. By the end of a week I had a couple of kids actually Dj a set at a school event.Very easy to learn, and lots of fun.
